The Calculators
These calculators handle the arithmetic that slows down the craft. Brew ratio, extraction yield, water chemistry: each tool traces its formula to a named source: the SCA Brewing Control Chart, peer-reviewed research, or a published expert method. No formula ships without review from a coffee professional.
The tools are built for working baristas, roasters, and serious home brewers who want correct numbers without doing the arithmetic by hand. They are free to use, and the math is public. Every spec sheet is available on request.
If you find a number that does not look right, tell us. We would rather know.
Timberline Coffee School
Timberline Coffee School offers SCA-accredited barista training, brewing courses, and roastery education based in Calgary, Alberta. It is the professional home base behind every formula on calculators.coffee: where the methods are tested, the numbers are checked, and the spec sheets originate.

Trent Rollings, SCA Authorized Trainer, WCC Certified Judge, Q Grader, Timberline Coffee School
Trent Rollings has spent over a decade in specialty coffee as a teacher, evaluator, and competition official. He is an SCA Authorized Trainer, a Q Grader, and a WCC Certified Judge, with credits at the World Barista Championship final in Milan.
He founded Timberline Coffee School and Simpler Coffee in Calgary, Alberta, where he trains baristas and roasters in the practical craft of coffee.
The calculators on this site grew out of tools he was already using in his own practice: brew ratios, extraction yields, water parameters. He built the site because the math should be easy, not because the coffee is.
